Do I need macOS drivers for my graphics card?
Only a following graphics cards require driver installation under macOS:
- NVIDIA GeForce GTX 600/700 series (recommended, but not needed, only required for GTX 780 Ti under macOS Mavericks 10.9.2 or later and GTX 750 Ti, macOS Monterey 12.0.1 or later requires GeForce Kepler patch)
- NVIDIA Quadro K series (recommended, but not needed, macOS Monterey 12.0.1 or later requires GeForce Kepler patch)
- NVIDIA GeForce GTX Titan/GTX Titan Black (recommended, but not needed, only required for GTX Titan Black under macOS Mavericks 10.9.2 or later, macOS Monterey 12.0.1 or later requires GeForce Kepler patch)
- NVIDIA GeForce GTX 900 series
- NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1000 series
- NVIDIA Quadro M series
- NVIDIA Quadro P series
- NVIDIA GTX Titan X, Titan X Pascal, Titan Xp
- AMD HD 7000 series (only under OS X Lion 10.7.5)
- AMD Radeon RX 5000 series (requires MacVidCards driver patch, only under macOS Catalina 10.15.5 to 10.15.7)
- AMD Radeon Pro W5000 series (requires MacVidCards driver patch, only under macOS Catalina 10.15.5 to 10.15.7)
All other cards works out of the box as the driver is built-in macOS.
