How to upgrade Mac Pro 4,1 from macOS High Sierra 10.13.6 incorrect build 17G65 or 17G66?
If you have Mac Pro 4,1 (modified to 5,1) and you are stuck on incorrect macOS High Sierra 10.13.6 build 17G65 or 17G66, which has no NVIDIA Web Driver available just follow these steps to update to the latest build 17G14042.
Step 1Download swpatch.sh.zip script file from DosDude website: http://dosdude1.com/highsierra/swupatch.sh.zip
After extracting zip archive you will see swupatch.sh script file. |

Step 2Click Go from the top bar, then Utilites. |
|
|
|
Step 3Double-click Terminal icon to launch Terminal. |
|
|
|
Step 4Move swupatch.sh file over Terminal window to launch the script.
Terminal will ask for password. Type your user password and press ENTER (password won't be shown not even under asterisk). |

|
Step 5Press Y to refresh macOS updates list. |
|
|
|
Step 6Script will find some macOS High Sierra 10.13.6 security updates. |
|
|
|
Step 7Click Apple logo, then About This Mac from the top bar. |
|
|
|
Step 8Click Software Update button. |
|
|
|
Step 9Click Update button to install macOS High Sierra 10.13.6 Security Update 2020-005. |

|
Step 10After installation redo steps 7 and 8 to get another updates. This time you will see macOS High Sierra 10.13.6 Supplemental Update 2 for MacBook Pro (2018).
Again click Update button to install it.
It won't install but it's needed to install final security update. |

Step 11Once again redo steps 7 and 8 to get a final update. You will see macOS High Sierra 10.13.6 Security Update 2020-006. Again click Update button to install it. |

Step 12Now you can download and install the latest macOS High Sierra 10.13.6 NVIDIA Web Driver: https://pics.macvidcards.eu/webdriver-387.10.10.10.40.140.pkg |
