eGPU NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 Ti 11 GB GDDR5X (MSI Gaming X GTX1080 Ti)

€299.00

Finally specially modified to work as eGPU with Apple Mac Pro 6.1 (2013) by MacVidCards!

After many years of development we are proud to announce the first eGPU (external graphics card) for Apple Mac Pro 6,1 which works under macOS and Windows.

This card drastically increases computing power of the Mac Pro 2013, even models with the most powerful AMD FirePro D700 cards, and thanks to the support of Windows 10/11 you can play any game without compromises. Additionally, it allows the use of 5K monitors and CUDA technology.

In Shadow of The Tomb Raider benchmark in 4K@60Hz resolution and high details, Mac Pro 2013 in the most powerful configuration with a 12-core Intel Xeon E5-2697v2 processor, 64 GB DDR3 RAM and two AMD FirePro D700 6 GB cards running in Crossfire mode, achieved only 18 frames per second, and after installing this card, it was 44 frames per second!

In 3DMark Time Spy benchmark, two AMD FirePro D700 6 GB cards in Crossfire mode achieved 3368 points, and after adding this card, as much as 8095 points. If you have Mac Pro 6,1 with slower cards like 2x AMD FirePro D300 2 GB or 2x FirePro D500 3 GB cards, the difference in performance is even greater.

For proper operation with Apple Mac Pro 6.1 (2013) computer (it might also work with other Macs equipped with a Thunderbolt 2 port) you also need:

- entering one command in Terminal under macOS before installation, no additional patches are required

- installed macOS Sierra 10.12.4 or newer operating system, up to macOS High Sierra 10.13.6 (no support for macOS Mojave and newer systems due to the lack of NVIDIA drivers)

- installed NVIDIA Web Driver and CUDA drivers (under macOS)

- any eGPU case, e.g. ASUS XG Station Pro or another with a Thunderbolt 3 or Thunderbolt 2 port with a power supply of approx. 330W

- Apple ThunderBolt 3 to Thunderbolt 2 adapter (only for cases with a Thunderbolt 3 port)

- Apple ThunderBolt 2 to Thunderbolt 2 cable

- OWC Headless HDMI monitor emulator or other (if used under Windows 10/11)

Key features:

- displays the Apple boot screen (gray screen with Apple logo on startup) on all ports

- supports five monitors simultaneously: 1x DVI-D (single-link) + 2x HDMI 2.0 (1.4 under macOS) + 2x DisplayPort 1.4

- supports 4K@60Hz resolution with 10-bit color or 5K@60Hz with 6-bit color via DisplayPort and 4K@30Hz via DVI and HDMI ports

- supports Metal, CUDA, OpenCL and OpenGL technologies

- allows you to install Windows 8/8.1/10/11 in UEFI mode (from Windows 10 build 1809 and in all versions of Windows 11 it is required to install the monitor emulator in the HDMI port of the Mac itself Pro 2013 or connect a second monitor, it is not required under Windows 8/8.1)

- supports sound via HDMI and DisplayPort ports under macOS (after installing additional drivers)

Technical specifications:

- GPU clock speed: 1544 MHz + 1658 MHz boost

- Memory clock speed: 1376 MHz

- amount and type of memory: 11 GB GDDR5X

- bus width: 352-bit

- bus: PCI-Express 3.0 x16 @ 2.0 x4 (via Thunderbolt 2)

- number of CUDA cores: 3584
